Lisa Nardi

Lisa Nardi

Lisa Nardi is an American pianist/composer, residing on Long Island, New York, where she writes music for films, documentaries and live performance. Her musical training began at the age of eight, one year after moving to a new home where an old, upright piano had been left behind. By the age of 10, her love of music was so strong that she asked her teacher if he would also teach her composition, creating a whole new passion, alongside playing. At 13, Lisa was studying piano and composition at New York University with the renowned pianist/composer Vladimir Padwa, who led her to her radio debut at the age of 16. Upon graduating high school, Lisa attended and received her degree from the Aaron Copeland School of Music, at Queens College. It was at that time, while under the tutelage of pianist/composer Judith Lang Zaimont, that Lisa made her Carnegie Recital Hall debut, as a winner of Carnegie’s Young Artists competition. Upon graduating, Lisa was finally able to spend more time composing and the fruit of her labors have found their way into several independent films and PBS documentaries, including two films with the acclaimed documentarian Ken Burns.
