Parting is such sweet sorrow. Our Summer Chamber Series closes with Beethoven’s “Serioso,” which was so different the composer demanded it never be played publicly. A work of haunting beauty, Schubert’s seductive “Death and the Maiden” was written as he faced his own mortality.
