Mary Feminear
Soprano Mary Feminear performs Handel’s Messiah and Holiday Pops Dec. 5-6, 2026.

Her recent appearances feature role and company debuts: Donna Anna in Don Giovanni (Norwalk Symphony), Beth March in Little Women (Fort Worth Opera), Johanna Barker in Sweeney Todd (Opera Maine), Handel’s Messiah (Phoenix Symphony) and Carmina Burana (Baton Rouge Symphony).
Previous performances include Countess Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro (Opera Omaha and Maryland Lyric Opera), Semele (Opera Omaha and Seattle Opera), the title role of Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah (Wichita Grand Opera), Alice Ford in Falstaf (Maryland Lyric Opera), Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen (Grand Théâtre de Genève), Musetta in Puccini’s La bohème (Genève), Zerlina in Mozart’s Don Giovanni (Genève), Amore in Cavalli’s Il Giasone (Château de Versailles), Nanetta in Verdi’s Falstaf (Genève), Helena in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Genève), and Agnès Sorel in Tchaikovsky’s Orleanskaya Deva (Victoria Hall).
Mary is a recipient of the Novick Career Advancement Prize, the Makiko Narumi Memorial Prize, and the Hardesty and Beverley Peck Johnson Award.
In her spare time she enjoys reading fiction and hunting for treasures at estate sales and antique shops. She holds an Artist Diploma in Opera Studies and a Bachelor of Music degree from the Juilliard School and a Master of Arts degree from Teachers College, Columbia University. She is a native of Auburn, AL.
