Lovell Rose performs the role of Maximilian in Leonard Bernstein’s Candide January 14, 16 and 19, 2025.

Lovell is humbled to be making his mainstage debut with South Florida Symphony Orchestra in their production of Candide. Born and raised in Southern Maryland, Lovell studied Voice at Barry University in Miami, FL where he currently resides. A versatile baritone, Lovell has worked with ensembles across the greater South Florida area such as Seraphic Fire, Florida Grand Opera Chorus, Orchestra Miami, ACM Theatricals, and numerous artistic projects both stateside and nationwide. This will be Lovell’s first principal role with the Symphony after participating in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 and Handel’s Messiah as a member of the South Florida Symphony Chorus. When he is not singing, Lovell enjoys performing with his Improv troupe as well as caring for pets across MiamiDade.
